Curcumin neutralizes the free radicals and stimulates our body’s own antioxidant enzymes.
It is widely known for its anti-neoplastic and anti-carcinogenic properties.

Why is sleep so important?!

Sleep is one of the most important things we need for our body. It is also one of the important aspects of living a healthy lifestyle many of us are deprived of or do not get enough. Based on a study between the years of 1999 and 2004, 40 million Americans suffer from over 70 different types of sleep disorders. This study also includes 60% of adults reported trouble sleeping at least a few nights a week or more, 40% of adults suffer from daytime sleepiness at least a few days every month to the point where it interferes with their lifestyle, 69% of children reported sleeping problems a few nights or more during the week.

Quinoa Stuffed Acorn Squash With Swiss Chard and White Beans

stuffed acorn squash

I love acorn squash. It has such a great texture and taste. Most importantly it is loaded with vitamins A, B, and C. These are important for a healthy immune system, maintains a healthy metabolism, turns carbohydrates into energy, keeps the digestive system healthy, are antioxidants which prevent free radical damage, and helps to prevent disease.
Acorn squash also has potassium, which is essential for maintaining normal blood pressure levels, and is also high in fiber to keep the gut healthy and blood sugar more stable. Roasting is my favorite way to enjoy squashes. I stuffed my squash and paired it with a side of roasted maitake mushrooms and brussels sprouts.

Cauliflower Pizza

Making a good pizza is definitely a practice. I topped my pizza with my favorite vegetable toppings and sprinkled some cheese to give it a nice finish. This hit the spot and it made me so happy.
