Allison, a Lead Clinical Nutritionist at RWJBarnabas Health and Nutritional Therapist, is disciplined in her work. This started in her adolescent years. She grew up heavily into sports, beginning with ballet, gymnastics, and swimming (5-6 years old) and later into soccer and softball. She continued her athletic softball career on a collegiate level, performing all 4 years as a scholar-athlete. The discipline and strength that sports has brought to her life helped her build her character. Sports taught Allison that true hard work and passion will turn your dreams to reality. After many years of 5am training sessions, hours and hours of team and individual/private training practices 6-7 days a week, it all paid off. Allison was recognized with numerous awards throughout her collegiate career. “I was defeated countless times, was told I would never be good enough and almost believed it. I never quit, ever. I have every coach to thank for that, including my amazing parents. If you want something bad enough, you have to step up, believe in yourself and just do it. You will never get those moments back.”

After receiving an undergraduate degree at Kean University, she decided to follow her true passion and studied in the accredited program by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Didactic Program in Dietetics, while in Master’s Program in Nutrition and Food Science from Montclair State University. During her studies, Allison had the opportunity to work alongside the extremely knowledgeable team of Dietitians and Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) at the Diabetes Center at Overlook Hospital. It was during her training at the Diabetes Center that Allison learned that optimizing a patients nutritional status can aide in the treatment of many disease states.

Allison continued her education by completing the Nutritional Therapy Program at the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver, Colorado.
Following very shortly after, completed her Dietetic Internship through Montclair State University.
